Horrors of McClintock Intersection

As a Moreton Bay Local, I frequently drive on Brays Road in Griffin and have to turn off from McClintock road. I do this drive in the mornings and afternoons before and after work.

Turning right onto Brays from McClintock can result in certain death and people frequently do not abide by the speed limit. In my 18 months of living here, I have seen a handful of crashes at this intersection and I am not only worried for my safety, but the safety of children who walk to and from school, and other drivers on the road.

I have called council to fix it but they don’t have any immediate plans to do so. They have recently painted on the road “School Zone” but still I have seen two accidents since then.

I am thinking about starting a petition to have the council put speed bumps on Brays in Griffin/Murrumba Downs and also a sign that does not permit right turns in peak times. I find that by turning left and doing a U-turn at the U-Turn bay near Murrumba Downs train station is a much safer option.

What do you think? Do you think Brays & McClintock need fixing? Should a petition be created?
