All I want for Mother’s Day
Forget breakfast in bed or macaroni necklaces, all I want for Mother’s Day is a night at a 5 star hotel, a sleep in and breakfast by the pool – alone.
That’s right – call me a terrible mum but all I want is some alone time where I can forget about all my responsibilities and bask in my own company.
I decided to write a poem about it:
All I want for Mother’s Day
Is some time alone
No clothes needing washing
No nagging on the phone
All I want for Mother’s Day
Is some peace and quiet
Lounging by the pool
Where there are no rules
All I want for Mother’s Day
Is to rest my lungs
No screaming at the kids
Or picking up loose things
No stepping on lego
No stains on my clothes
All I want for Mother’s Day
Is to rest my toes
No more Peppa Pig or Paw Patrol as shows
All I want for Mother’s Day
Is a little sleep
Is that too much to ask?
A schedule free of inane tasks
All I want for Mother’s Day
Is a meal of my own
No sharing utensils
No cleaning up spills
All I want for Mother’s Day
Is a place to chill
Oh what a thrill, this would be
Happy Mother’s Day to me!
